David Houlding

David Houlding currently serves as director of global healthcare business strategy at Microsoft, and leads the Microsoft Global Healthcare Compliance Scale program in collaboration with HITRUST and a broad ecosystem of partners and customers. With more than 28 years of experience across healthcare and life sciences segments worldwide, David has deep experience in privacy, security, compliance, cloud computing, blockchain and AI/ML. David does extensive thought leadership, advocacy and executive briefings on healthcare cybersecurity, privacy and compliance, alleviating concerns and mitigating risk to empower healthcare organizations worldwide to accelerate solution adoption and time-to-value. Prior to joining Microsoft in 2018 David served for over 10 years at Intel Health and Life Sciences as director, healthcare privacy and Security, responsible for enabling healthcare organizations worldwide to achieve compliance with regulations and data protection laws, and implement effective privacy and security programs. David has a proven track record for innovation, with five patents granted by the USPTO. David currently holds the CISSP and CIPP credentials, and has a Master of Applied Science in data compression and digital signal processing from Simon Fraser University, Canada.
