Lorraine Doo
Lorraine Tunis Doo is a Senior Policy Advisor for the Health Informatics and Interoperability Group (HIIG) in the Office of Burden Reduction and Interoperability at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). She develops policy and supports industry implementation of federal policies on interoperability. Our mission is to promote the (secure) exchange and use of electronic health information to support better decision making and a more efficient health care system.
Lorraine previously worked within CMS as a policy advisor and rule writer in the Office of eHealth Standards and Services/Division of National Standards to support adoption of standards under the Health Insurance Portability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
Prior to joining CMS in 2003, Lorraine was the Director of a statewide Medicaid managed care organization in Maryland.
Lorraine has a Masters in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and a Masters in Social Work Administration from University of Michigan, with specialization in Gerontology.
Outside of work, Lorraine enjoys gardening, running, creating art, and playing banjo.
