Alex Treacher is a senior data and applied scientist at Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation (PCCI), a nonprofit data science and technology company based in Dallas, Texas, that focuses on improving the care of vulnerable populations. As an undergraduate, he studied physics, with a focus on computational physics, and minored in math and chemistry. He continued his education at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and completed his PhD in molecular biophysics and computational biology. His graduate work focused on the theoretical advancement and application of deep learning to neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases. His current work focuses on the development of predictive clinical support and other healthcare-related tools, with the goal of simultaneously improving the accuracy, quality and efficiency of provided and administered healthcare. Current projects of interest include predicting workplace violence events in a healthcare setting, and prediction of risk levels for HIV and suicide.
