Quentin Tyson

Quentin Tyson, Director of DQSAS at CMS, focuses on the modernization & management of the CMS survey & assessment IT systems to improve the underlying technology and accessibility to data supporting the multiple Survey & Certification & Patient Assessment provider types as well as CLIA. Quentin has over 30 years of IT experience holding prior roles such as CTO and Sr. Tech Advisor, and IT Director in other areas. He is a graduate of UMBC (BS) and Johns Hopkins (MS) with both degrees focused in IT. As the Director, he is currently overseeing the migration of the legacy (20+ year old) QIES environment to a modernized iQIES internet-based system providing a more efficient and effective way of collecting, analyzing and reporting on data allowing CMS, beneficiaries and others better access to information to make informed decisions.
