Kathleen Mazza
Kathleen Mazza, PhD, RN, MBA, is senior advisor, population health informatics for Northwell Health. She is also an adjunct professor for Hofstra University School of Health Professions and Human Services and is a senior business advisor for Northwell. At Northwell, Dr. Mazza is responsible for identifying technical solutions to support innovative clinician workflows for value-based care models, chronic disease management and prevention, patient engagement, and research and evaluation. In her role as senior advisor, population health informatics, Dr. Mazza helps develop IT solutions for management of patients in modified-risk and fully capitated programs for the large, multihospital integrated health system. She collaborates with clinical end users and administrators to define business needs and develop business/functional requirements for a homegrown software solution to manage patients across the spectrum of care. She also works with the health system’s software engineering team to review program requirements and define acceptance criteria for features to be developed, and partners with end users to define user acceptance testing criteria for each iteration of the software, coordinate testers’ activities, and ensure documentation of testing is completed in a standardized manner. Dr. Mazza has more than 40 years of experience in healthcare.
