Ana Aleksandric

Student, Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Science & Engineering at University of Texas at Arlington

Ana Aleksandric is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington and a graduate research assistant in the Multi-Interprofessional Center for Health Informatics (MICHI) under the supervision of Dr. Shirin Nilizadeh and Dr. Gabriela Wilson. In Fall 2021 and Spring 2022, she served as a HIMSS TIGER Scholar Intern, working with subject matter experts on several health informatics-related projects. Ana authored several publications in prestigious journals and presented her research findings at the regional and national levels and the World Congress on Medical Informatics, MedInfo 2023, held in Sydney, Australia. She was recently accepted to present the project “Analyzing the Stance of Facebook Posts on Abortion Considering State-level Health and Social Compositions” at the International AAAI Conference on Web and Social Media (ICWSM 2024) in Buffalo, NY. Ana obtained her undergraduate degree in Computer Science at Texas Wesleyan University, where she received two awards as an Outstanding Computer Science Student and the honor of being a student on the Dean’s list every semester.
