Title:
The Impact of Convergence Medicine on Healthcare and Medical Technology
Description:
Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) established the Institute of Convergence Medicine with Innovative Technology, in collaboration with the Department of Transdisciplinary Medicine to foster interdisciplinary collaboration between medicine, engineering and other fields. The institute operates a clinic for multidisciplinary research, enhances communication and understanding between medical and engineering teams, and emphasizes the importance of collaborative research. It aims to strengthen research capabilities, nurture more convergent medical experts, and develop comprehensive professionals in medicine, engineering and other disciplines. Collaborative research between medicine and engineering has led to an increase in research clinics, abstract presentations, papers and patents, contributing significantly to the expertise in convergence medicine. Future plans include expanding collaborative research clinics and enhancing network collaborations with other institutions to achieve more effective outcomes in convergent medicine.
